Need some refreshing? If you're the mother of a preschooler... you know you do!

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is here to encourage and support mothers with young children through informative presentations, fun activities and meaningful conversation. Our hope is that long-term friendships will be made and that every mother will leave feeling valued and equipped to handle the everyday stresses of motherhood. We are not perfect moms. We do not have all the answers. We are just like you - women who want to be the best mothers that we can be!

Our 2007-2008 theme focuses around the Home. Afterall home is where it all begins. We will focus on different rooms of the house as we welcome guest speakers, have discussions and do crafts. MOPS is a wonderful supportive group that every mommy or expecting mother can benefit from. We have a day and a night MOPS group here in Brevard and you are welcome to attend both. Days MOPS Information

Who: Expectant moms and those with children from infancy through the end of kindergarten are welcome.

What: When you arrive, you may take your child/children upstairs to the MOPPETS classrooms. Then return downstairs to mingle and grab a cup of coffee. We then have a yummy brunch (the two discussion groups take turns bringing the food to share). Then we welcome a guest speaker, make a fun craft or have a discussion time. We then break into two discussion groups where we can share openly and encourage each other. Finally, it's time to pick up those precious little ones and leave refreshed for another month.

Where: First United Methodist Church on Broad Street in Brevard. The church is on the corner of Caldwell Street and Broad Street just up from Food Lion Plaza and across from Brevard College. We meet in the fellowship hall of the church.

When: The first Friday of the month (September to May) from 9:15-11:30 A.M. (with an exception in January due to the holiday. We'll meet Friday, January 9th.) Day MOPS follows the public school schedule and does not have regular meetings over the summer.

Details: Free childcare is provided for infants and preschoolers during the meeting.

MOPS@nite Information

Who: Expectant moms and those with children from infancy through the end of kindergarten are welcome.

What: At each MOPS@nite meeting, we begin with a delicious light dinner (cost is $3 per person). As we eat, we chat and get to catch up with old friends and make a few new ones too. We celebrate milestones, have doorprize drawings and play a fun game. Then we welcome a guest speaker, do a fun hands-on craft or have a mom-to-mom discussion time (we alternate each month between speaker, craft and discussion). We end with a prayer request time and our "Take Ten" time where the moms ask and answer each others pressing mothering questions.

Where: Brevard Community Church at 417 Morris Road in Brevard. (Turn onto Ecusta Road by Lowe's, watch for Morris Road on the right. The church is on the right side just past the open field and woods.)

When: The third Thursday of each month year round. 6:30 -8:30 P.M.

Details: Infants and nursing babies are welcome, but no childcare is provided.
